Earth Week 2017

Get Your “Can” on the Bus for Earth Week

This Earth Week, it’s time to Get Your “Can” on the Bus!  Ride MATBUS fixed route vehicles for free during Earth Week, April 17-22, when you donate an empty aluminum can on the bus. Each vehicle will have a donation container just inside the door.  At the end of the week, all collected cans will be recycled with the proceeds donated to a local charity.
Public transportation plays an important role in protecting the environment. One MATBUS vehicle full of people can remove up to 50 cars from the road – that’s a line of cars about four blocks long! Reducing your solo car trips is one of the most effective ways to reduce your individual carbon footprint.
Also, during Earth Week, take the iGoEco Challenge to try a more eco-friendly mode of transportation – ride free on MATBUS, walk, bike, rollerblade, or carpool. Exciting prizes are still up for grabs, so sign up now at www.iGoEcoChallenge.com.
